subject: HUMOR YOUR INTUITION [print this page] When was the last time you received a positive inspiration from withina hunch, a creative idea, a knowing, a solution to a problem you were working on. Everyone has received a positive inspiration from within at least once in their life. Such experiences can be exhilarating. But how do you get more of them? How do you get positive inspirations whenever you need them?
Act on what comes from within
The answer lies in acting on the positive inspirations you do get, because history has shown that when people do act on their positive inspirations, they get more of them. For example, Mahatma Gandhi, who regularly acted on his inner inspirations and amazed the world with the effectiveness of his novel policies, famously said: "The only tyrant I accept in this world is the still small voice' within."
But can you really just act on what comes from your intuition?
Verify the inspiration
First verify that the inspiration came from your inner voice, not just from your logical mind, by questioning your detachment from the answer, by noting the uplifting feel of the message, by weighing the harmlessness inherent in the message, and by evaluating the practicality of the message.
Take the easy steps
Then consider whether you can easily perform the first steps of the course suggested by the message. If you do perform those first steps and nothing seems to be happening, can you easily get off the inspired detour and go back to whatever you were doing? For example, if the message comes: eat at this restaurant for lunch today. Is it as easy for you to do that as to eat at any other restaurant? If so, why not try it. If nothing out of the ordinary seems to happen, are you as well off following your inner inspiration as you would have been had you not followed it? If so, you've lost nothing by playing with your intuition.
Play with your intuition
And if the magic of serendipity begins to happen at the new restaurant, you've gained an experience, an insight you would not otherwise have had. Be alert at the new restaurant: see who you meet, see what interactions come, see what you learn.
Play with your intuition and see what it brings. The more you play with your intuition, the more it will want to play with you.
