subject: Eliminate Foot Odors And Eliminate Awkward [print this page]

Life is full of socially awkward situationsLife is full of socially awkward situations. Perhaps a dozen and a half examples have already come to your mind. How about foot odor? Have you ever been in a situation where someone took off their shoes and exposed a foul foot odor? This is not the most pleasant thing in the world. At times smelly feet can create uneasy social situations. Foot odor is caused by bacteria digesting dead skin cells. This bacteria growth is increased by moisture in shoes, sweat, and socks that do not breathe.

Generally foot odor is not some genetic mutation you have inherited from some creepy ancestors genes somewhere down the family tree. In other words, foot odor is a symptom of poor foot hygiene. It is something that we can eliminate or reduce and begin to consistently feel comfortable with removing our shoes in public.

Dryness is key. If you can keep your feet dry, foot odors will greatly be reduced. In a moisture rich environment, bacteria breeds and multiplies quickly. Start the day by washing your feet. When you shower in the morning do you neglect washing your feet? Make sure to properly wash each foot with soap and water. Feel free to wash your feet multiple times throughout the day if you perspire frequently and exercise often. After you feet have been washed, it is a great idea to dust them with talcum powder. This powder will absorb moisture throughout the day. Change your socks often and wash them as much as possible. Putting cornstarch in your shoes will reduce odor too. You can also sprinkle your socks with moisture absorbing powders. Take time to soak your feet.

Even if you soak once a week, this can renew your feet and serves as a deeper clean for your feet. Go to the store and look for odor eaters. These are things that you can place in your shoes that will attack odors and dry out shoes. When you are not wearing your shoes, place them in a dry place and allow them to air. Switch shoes often, allowing them to air out between usage. Last thing, make sure to buy breathable socks. Do not wear socks that suffocate your feet and cause perspiration and moisture build-up. Whether you visit a podiatrist in Miami, New York or Los Angeles, a podiatrist will tell you the exact same things. Foot odors is curable with changes in lifestyle and habits.
