subject: The Addams Family Tickets - A Hit On Broadway! [print this page]

The ghoulish Addams Family made a splash as single-panel cartoons and have since been portrayed in several television shows and film adaptations, but there is nothing quite like seeing this unusual American family act out their affinity for all things macabre right on stage! "The Addams Family" first opened on Broadway in April 2010, with the original cast including Nathan Lane as Gomez and Bebe Neuwirth as Morticia. Next year fans of this unusual family can see the show acted out in several cities across the U.S. Check out the show times and purchase The Addams Family tickets today from StubHub.

"The Addams Family" musical includes several popular numbers like "The Addams Family Theme," "When You're an Addams," "Morticia" and "Let's Not Talk About Anything Else But Love." Although the show is currently only on Broadway, a national tour is set to begin in September 2011 at the Mahalia Jackson Theater for the Performing Arts in New Orleans, La.

The musical's synopsis revolves around a dinner at the family's house including the Addams' and the Beinekes', who are the parents of Lucas Beineke, Wednesday's new boyfriend. Although both Wednesday and Lucas instruct their families to behave as "normally" as possible for the dinner party, inevitably some fairly strange antics come to the surface.

Tensions are high between Lucas's parents Mal and Alice and Pugsley, Fester and Grandmama don't seem to grasp the concept of acting normally. The drama and hilarity ensures when Pugsley inadvertently slips a potion to Alice, which makes her reveal that her marriage to Mal has been loveless and passionless, Uncle Fester says that he is in love with the moon and Gomez accidently compares Morticia to a goat. Uncle Fester ultimately instructs the Ancestors to muster up a sudden and forceful storm, which traps everyone in the Addams' mansion for the night. Luckily, in the end everything gets sorted out, albeit in an awfully unusual way reminiscent of all things Addams Family.

In addition to Lane and Neuwirth, the Broadway cast includes Kevin Chamberlin as Uncle Fester, Jackie Hoffman as Grandmama, Krysta Rodiguez as Wednesday Addams, Adam Riegler as Pugsley Addams, Zachary James as Lurch, Terrence Mann as Mal Beineke, Carolee Carmello as Alice Beineke and Wesley Taylor as Lucas Beineke.

"The Addams Family" cartoons were created by Charles Addams and portrayed a satirical version of the opposite of an ideal American family. This eccentric brood delights in all things macabre and are completely oblivious that most people find them extremely bizarre and in some ways frightening. The cartoons originally appeared in The New Yorker starting in 1938 and ending in 1988, upon the death of Charles Addams. Since then the usual family has appeared in various different media genres, with the musical being one of the most popular ways to enjoy the bizarre and hysterical ways of this ghoulish famous family.

Don't miss the show on Broadway and be sure to check the upcoming schedule in 2011 to see when the Addams Family musical will be coming to a city near you!
