Everybody expects exceptional service and first class treatment whilst in hospital. We expect to be treated for our injury / illness and to be sent home. The last thing we expect is to be neglected and treated unfairly.

Unfortunately this isn't always the case, sometimes medical staff can be negligent and consequently this can cause further illness or injury and sometimes it can even have fatal effects.

Anyone can be a victim of negligence it can happen at any time, in any type of situation. If you have been physically or mentally affected by some kind of medical negligence do not be afraid of claiming compensation as you have the right to feel safe when having medical treatment.

There are many types of accidents that can take place when receiving medical treatment, the main three types of medical negligence claims are Cosmetic surgery compensation, Birth injury claims and MRSA.

Medical negligence claims are made for injuries that you have sustained while receiving compensation, which wouldn't have occurred if the medical staff involved had taken action to prevent the accident from taking place.

Many cases of negligence is usually due to a lack of preventative training, it is the responsibility of the medical staff dealing with you to provide safe working conditions and ensure your health and safety is top priority. Your doctors/ nurses must ensure the risk of you being neglected whilst in hospital is minimal otherwise they may be liable.

It is the duty of medical staff to comply with Health and Safety laws and regulations, which have been designed to make the hospital a safer environment, and reduce the risk of serious accidents.
