subject: Cheap Sword [print this page]

For those of you who are interested in sword collecting, then Samurai swords are for you. They will surely add to your already amazing collection that you can display proudly. Although these collectibles are anything but cheap, but they are definitely going to provide you with years of enjoyment and are also going to help you in building a nice and a valuable collection that you can pass on to your children and then they can pass it on to theirs.

There are basically four kinds of katana swords that are available on eBay. These swords can be categorized as objects, production, custom and last but not the least as Nihonto. The sword like objects are the kind that can be proudly used as decorative swords that can be hung on walls. Not only are they aesthetically pleasing, but they have been made in a very traditional manner and hence they cannot be termed as been very safe when it comes to their actual usage. Their composition is that of .440 stainless steel that is much brittle in regards to the length of the sword. When there is a heavy impact they shatter which causes the metal shrapnel to just fly everywhere. But amongst all swords like objects there is one that really bothers me and that is the antique katana replicas that hail from China. They are made in such a way that they seem rather dirty and also much rusty much like the true antique Japanese swords are. Their craftsmanship is rather poorly and if a trial were to be held then the respective katana would fail miserably.

If you are a sword collector then in that case you are likely to be the owner of a vast variety of swords, and you will also have several choices at your disposal. So the question is that how do you choose? And how do you go for the right sword? Well, the answer to the first question is the reason why this article has been composed. The second question, however, has a much easier answer and that is that there is no such thing as "the right sword".

When going for a cheap sword what should be considered is "the right tool for the job". There are different kinds of swords that have different specifications such as their strengths and geometries that are going to be more appropriate for different actions. Hence it is basically the functionality of the sword that should be allowed to dictate as to which sword is going to be appropriate for a particular job.

There is the 40 inch long Blue Japanese Katana Sword w Dragon Tsuba and Scabbard that can be described as being a most wonderful replica of the samurai swords that have been popularized in several Japanese samurai movies that have been exported to the West ever since the fifties.
