The conventional practice among responsible students wishing to have high marks is to learn the material by heart without actual analysis thereof, thinking of only the volume of information to put into their heads. However, such practices are very unhealthy because they are very time-consuming and ineffective in the end. Students who learn much without thinking the material over forget the facts they have learned very quickly after the exam, which may be ruinous for their future career and professional skills. The tips for healthy study habits are included in the present article; they will help students to learn how materials can be processed easier, quicker and remain in their minds longer.

Useful Study Habits for Everyone.

1. Reading and analyzing materials is not an easy task, and the student has to possess certain studying skills to accomplish the task this way. However, analytical learning gives a set of advantages for the student at an exam: the teacher will surely ask some questions not relating directly to the contents of the book or lecture studied. He or she will definitely try to check how well the student knows and understands the materials, and not only remembers them. Hence, one has to learn to make conclusions from the read facts and figures and not only give them precisely.

2. The analytical approach does not pertain to all spheres of studies, and the student possessing such skills should clearly distinguish the fields in which an improvisation will be appropriate, and in which ones it is unacceptable. Such areas include definitions (usually taken from vocabularies), dates and statistics. Making conclusions from them is possible as one has to know how to interpret data, but the initial information should remain unaltered and should be given to the teacher precisely.
