subject: Designing Logos For An Effective Brand Positioning [print this page]

Why are there businesses that don't survive no matter how effective their product or service may seem? One plausible answer to this question is that the business has failed to strategize in brand awareness. Brand awareness has been considered as the ultimate mantra of modern day business enterprises.

When brand awareness is brought up corporate identity, design and logos also come into mind. This is because designs are fundamental in in raising awareness about a particular product or service. Designs are indeed effective business tools, particularly when properly used.

So what constitutes an effective design? An effective design, more than anything else, clearly conveys the intention or the function that the product or the brand is meant to fulfil. Once the message is clear, target customers easily find association with the brand.

Creating And Building Corporate Identity

But of course establishing connection with customers is not enough. The brand needs to be credible. It should truly uphold what it promises to fulfill. Otherwise, the brand will only be recognizable but not worth trusting.

Moreover, an effective design is distinguishable from the rest of its competitors. This attribute is not really independent. Integrating the first two qualities of an effective design is necessary to come up with a unique, striking, and enduring design.

The third ingredient to make an outstanding design - aside from incorporating the first two qualities of an effective design - is to humanize it. Humanizing a brand design means giving it a sound character so it can take pride in being one of a kind.

An effective brand design should also manifest flexibility. Merging and business expansions are so common nowadays that the design should represent every consumer group that it intends to cater to.

This indicates that being able to present an up-to-date brand identity is quite crucial in staying competitive. Hence, continuing to evolve is the key to staying fresh and exciting in the competitive marketplace.
