subject: Tips And Techniques To Add Classiness To Your House [print this page]

Boutiques and lavish hotel rooms make us feel pampered. But do you really have to leave your home and spend all that money just for one night? Not necessarily - you can set up this same sophistication within your own home.

Let's start with the bed, as that will provide the most comfort. Don't skimp on sheets - go for the 400-thread count or even higher.

A comfy bed can't be beat. Add padding between the mattress and the sheets for extra comfort. Next it's time to head to the store and select some beautiful pillows in sophisticated colors.

Many people think that extravagant window treatments are necessary, but this really isn't the case. If you don't want to put a valance across the window, don't. It's your room and simplicity can be very elegant.

Sheer curtains will allow the light to come through while maintaining some privacy, so you'll want some sheer curtains. To block out all light and maintain all privacy, you'll want to add heavier curtains. These should match your bedding.

Curtains give you lighting options so that you can get more enjoyment out of your room. People who work nightshifts or just like to sleep in on weekends will really appreciate the heavy curtains that lock out all light. But don't forget your sheer curtains - you can pull the heavy curtains back and the sheer curtains will allow the light to shine through for a brighter room during your waking hours.

Simple colors and plush bedding is the key. Is there any better feeling than coming home from a long day and laying down in a big fluffy bed and looking around at your elegant colors with the sun shining through those sheer curtains? Probably not, with the exception of being able to sleep in as long as you'd like by blocking out the sunlight with your heavy curtains. Enjoy!
