Virtualized Clustered Hosting
Virtualized Clustered Hosting

Aurenavs primary hosting platform is built on our advanced high-availability virtualized clustered hosting solution using Kernel-based Virtual Machine (KVM) technology. KVM is a Linux kernel virtualization infrastructure that currently supports native virtualization using Intel VT or AMD-V. Limited support for paravirtualization is also available for Linux guests and Windows in the form of a paravirtual network driver, a paravirtual block I/O device (disk) driver, a balloon driver to affect operation of the guest virtual memory manager, and CPU optimization for Linux guests. Each virtual server consists of a specified amount of CPU and RAM. Additionally a set of storage drives, IP addresses and VLANs may be associated with any virtual server. Features of the Aurenav Virtualized Cluster Hosting (VCH) solution include:

Virtual servers are configured the same way as real hardware. The customer selects the CPU, RAM, disk storage, IPs and bandwidth needed and a virtual server is created accordingly.

Customers can specify the total capacity of infrastructure required in their subscription service, in terms of: CPU, RAM, disk, etc. that can be used

Virtual server capacity configurable on demand according to needs

Customers can include an optional burst mode as part of the subscription service in the event that more capacity is required

Any amount of virtual servers can be created as long as their total capacity does not exceed the subscription

Automatic fail-over, in the event of a cluster node failure the affected virtual machines will be restarted on another node

Virtual machine instances can be started and stopped on demand

Full console access provided through the VNC protocol

Support for dedicated VLANs giving the possibility to have a private network between virtual machines

VLANs can be routed to customer offices within the area of Stockholm

Support for basically any modern x86-based operating system including most Linux distributions, Windows XP, Vista, 7, 2003, 2008, etc.

64-bit platform

Pre-installed images of common operating systems available

Installation media for common operating systems available

With the Aurenav Virtualized Clustered Hosting solution it is now possible to have virtual servers that fully emulate a physical machine.
