subject: Taking the same ole' kiteboard vacation? Thats so yesterday! [print this page] True story: Two kitesurfers get back from separate kiteboarding holidays and post pictures on Facebook. One kitesurfer went to Caberete, Domincan Republic. And the other kitesurfer went to Cape Town, South Africa. Both kitesurfers are from the same city in the Netherlands and both kitesurfers are about the same kitesurfing level. And more importantly, both kitesurfers have about the same amount of friends on Facebook, and definitely the same group of kiting friends on Facebook.
One month after returning, the pictures that kiteboarder number two has posted have significantly more comments, questions and interest. While the pictures from kiteboarder number one have barely received any interest from their common group of kitesurfers.
So what's the difference? Kiteboarder number one went to Cabarete, and his pictures show how this supposed quaint beach town is really just an over commercialized, over hyped, over exploited beach town. While he did manage to get some kiteboarding in, he did not progress as he was always worried about crashing into another kitesurfer. Basically, he took a "normal" kiteboard holiday.
On the other hand, kitesurfer number two went on an African Kitesurfing Safari from Cape Town, South Africa. His pictures document the 10 days of exploring South Africa and finding majestic African kitesurfing spots. His pictures show his constant smiling during his first time tandem skydiving, abseiling down the iconic Table Mountain, and even managing a grin when doing a shark cage dive. Kitesurfer number two also started to land his raileys blind and even managed to learn ride a surfboard with a kite. Kiteboarder two also got to spend one morning exploring a Big-5 animal reserve; getting up close and personal to large wild animals. All these adventures were photographed and posted on Facebook so he could brag to his kiteboarding buddies about insanely epic his African Kitesurfing Safari was.
Why do you deserve an African Kitesurfing Safari? Because its a new type of kiteboarding holiday. Each of your 10 days is spent exploring new beaches on the Western Cape of South Africa.
