subject: Machu Picchu Attractions [print this page]

The place of Machu Picchu has become a frequent spot for mountaineers. It is one of the top recommended tourist attractions in the world because of its spectacular scenes. Machu Picchu was recently repaired due to a mudslide that happened earlier this year. It is now open again after a successful renovation. This is good news for adventure lovers because they can now continue seeing this spectacular place.

When you arrive in Peru, take an internal ride to Cuzco where Machu Picchu is located. Take the public transport and experience the local places of Peru. Cuzco is the spot where trekkers spend the night before heading out on an early trek the next day. Some backpackers go on the trail with a machu picchu guide so they wont be lost along the way.

Hiking Machu Picchu is the most anticipated part of the adventure. Usually the trek takes 4 days and 3 nights through the Inca trail. But if you are not fit enough to walk or climb a 3 day route, there is a Cuzco train that will take you to Machu Picchu in just one day.

Surrounded by rich rainforest and the longest mountain range in the world, the Andes, you can truly say that Machu Picchu is blessed with a great view. The mountains are simply breathtaking. The Cuzco in Peru is one of the most wonderful cities in South America and a great place to stop by after you hike the inca trail.

You will never run out of things to see when you travel to and spend time in Machu Picchu. There is a tricky first pass, also known as Dead Womans Pass, that is a real attraction. If your choice is riding the train, be attentive to the Urubamba River and the Sacred Valley; they are both spectacular! The Royal Tomb and Intipunku are great attractions that you'll want to see as well.
