What you'll need:
KR15A The Big Red Button (This will be your doorbell button)
TM751 Transceiver (This acts as the middle man)
SC546A Remote Chime (This will be your doorbell chime) L
M465 Lamp module (This will turn on a lamp when the doorbell is rung) *Optional These items can be purchased at The Home Automation Store.
Start off by plugging in the transceiver to any standard wall power outlet. The transceiver should be placed in a centralized location in your home, within 100 feet of the Big Red Button. The transceiver receives the signal from the Big Red Button and sends it to the doorbell chime.
Plug in the Doorbell Chime into any standard wall outlet. Place the chime in a centralized location so it can be heard throughout your home or add one to your downstairs and upstairs of you home. The Doorbell Chimes can be added anywhere within 100 feet of the transceiver. Add as many as you like.
To setup the Big Red Doorbell, install two AAA batteries, included, and set the House and Unit codes. Instructions to set the House and Unit codes are included in the instructions for the unit. If you have no other X10 systems running in your home, it is ready to use right out of the box. The unit can be attached to any surface using the two screws and/or sticky tape, both included. Place the doorbell next to any entry/exit door in your home. It's wireless so you don't have to worry drilling holes and running wires.
You can also add a Lamp module to the system so that when a visitor rings the doorbell, a light turns on. This creates an excellent audio/visual alert system. The lamp can be any lamp in your home. This is great for the hearing impaired.
