subject: Toshiba Folio 100 hands-on[video] [print this page] Toshiba launched Folio 100 smartpad earlier this week , and we grabbed some hands on time with the Android 2.2 in Table Froyo IFA 2010 today. The second important Android slate of day after we played with the smaller Samsung Galaxy Tab earlier is a larger beast, which with 10-inch capacitive touch screen(with multitouch 4-point) and NVIDIA Tegra chipset as its 2 AC100 siblings . The good news is that this is a reasonable decent slate, the bad is that it looks like the U.S. will not be achieved.
Hands on, is broad and wide-beast compared to the Galaxy card, though slim with him. Toshiba. Proved to be incomplete, touch screen, in response, sometimes with a few taps before registering, if you used the unit was ready for its non-computer manufacturing software. UI of AC100 were transferred to the Folio, and makes much more sense to machines based on the order of contact with shortcuts to applications, bookmarks, etc. in the bottom of the screen.
Still, its pretty clear that Android is not yet 100 percent ready-to-use tablet, and that shows. Battery life is rated at approximately 7hrs, based on mainly web browsing and a bit of video playback.
As for updates, and folio 100 will launch in Q4 2010, with the Android 2.2 Froyo, there is also talk of gingerbread 3.0 in Q1 2011. It is not specified, but still people are talking Toshiba said it hoped the case. In the UK, Toshiba expect Folio 100 and priced at 329($505), but did not expect it to be sold in the U.S. because the U.S. market is apparently not available to it. Now is the time to initiate a petition with the local representative of Toshiba, if you think otherwise.
