Expeller pressing is a mechanical process to extract oil from raw materials under high pressure. The earliest expeller was based on a simple screw design which was designed and patented by Valerius Anderson in the year 1900.

Expellers can recover up to 75% of the oil. Hard nuts and oil seeds might need greater pressure. Raw materials are fed through one end of the expeller and the residue comes out through the other end. The high pressure that is being applied in the oil extraction will create heat in the range of 140-210 F and some expellers have cooling mechanisms to retain the quality and property of the oil.

Oil Expellers cannot completely remove the oil from the raw material and very often a small part of them oil remain in the residue left after the pressing. This oil cake is used as animal or poultry feed and are also used in making dishes. In low oil content raw materials like rice bran, solvent extraction is used to extract the last traces of oil.

Types of Oil Expeller Machinery

Plate type filter press is well suited for coarse, polishing & sterilizing filter duties. Easy to operate, these filter press are available with various accessories and operational devices like pressure gauze, air vent valve, drip collection tray, etc. Typically these are used for Double Filtration, Retention of Solids & so on.

Plate & Frame Filter Press

Plate & Frame Filter Press with side holes are noted for their durability, and performance. Customized machines to suit the various requirements of the customers are available & high tolerance.

Screw Type Oil Press

It creates clean oil for fuel or for edible purposes and extruded meal that could be used as pellet fuel or animal feed, or fertilizer.

Oil extractors are available in various models like Single chamber, double or triple camber models to suit the diverse needs of the customer.

Single chamber oil expeller is the simplest of the lot. It needs only a small storage space and consumes only lower energy that the other models. Some of the advantages of single chamber oil expellers include maximum oil yield at low operating cost and low power consumption. It is easy to operate and is well suited for extracting oil from almost all types of edible and non edible nuts and seeds.

B2b market places are great hubs to scout for the latest models and deals in oil expellers and to know about the various international and national trade fairs and industrial exhibitions.
