subject: How to Choose a Game Room Sofa [print this page]

In order for your game room to be complete, you need a comfortable sofa to go with that flat screen television and game console. Choosing sofas is not as simple as it might seem, considering that you are going to use it often and it will need to hold up to the enthusiasm of you and your friends during gaming.

First, you must determine the appropriate size for the space in your game room. You will need to consider the number of people you will likely need to seat on a regular basis, as well as what size sofa the dimensions of the room will allow. If you plan to mostly partake in solo gaming or having just one or two friends over, a regular sofa may be appropriate; however, if you plan to host multiple players, a sectional sofa is likely the better choice. Also, there should be a special place for storing your games and even your console, so make sure the sofa you choose has built-in storage.

You will probably eat or drink while playing, making washable fabrics a solid choice, which are also ideal if you have pets or children who might be enjoying your game room sofa as well. You should also consider sofas that can be completely reupholstered simply by purchasing a new fabric set from the company. This allows you to change the colors of the room with ease, or replace fabric pieces that could be damaged by rowdy friends, children or pets.

If the room you have dedicated to gaming is located in a basement or down a narrow hallway, you might also want to consider a sofa that comes ready to assemble. This will allow you to maneuver the boxes easily into the room, and then assemble the sofa on location. If you ever need to move it out of the room, you will also be able to disassemble it for easy moving.

If you will go for a sectional sofa in your gaming room, it will be easier to rearrange the entire room if friends come by with an extra console and maybe an extra television. With this sofa option, everyone can sit comfortably and enjoy their gaming.

Last, but not least, make sure you like the materials used and that the cushions are as comfy as possible. After all, you will spend countless hours on your sofa while you go through dungeons, race cars and complete quests.
