Most people with tinnitus say that loud noises at work are why they suffer now. Many people have the same problem and hear ringing in some degree.

My tinnitus came from a common cause: loud music. I'm a musician and my job consisted of playing and listening to electric guitars played loudly and the hard pounding of cymbals.

If you've ever gone to a concert or club where the music was loud, you probably experienced some ringing in your ears after wards. I played music for a living in small clubs for years and the guitars and cymbals took their toll on my hearing.

My problem initially was inability to sleep. It's not easy to sleep when you're ears are buzzing or in some cases roaring. Ear plugs helped a little or some other sound in the room such as a fan could mask the sound. As the ringing of ears got worse however, these methods lost their effectiveness.

I did research and found that music had been made to help with the condition. Sounds of the forest or the jungle were helpful in masking the buzz and were definitely relaxing. I discovered that many of the methods that others found effective were very healthful and easy.

I found out there was music that was sold to mask the sounds of tinnitus and this did help somewhat. My research found that there were many different methods that worked for others. I would try anything to get rid of tinnitus.

Not getting enough sleep is bad for normal people but if you have tinnitus it's a killer. It leads to depression and the sounds only get louder.

Avoid caffeinated drinks or any foods that might keep you awake. Regular exercise will make a huge difference in your ability to sleep. It also helps with circulation.
