subject: The Features of Hlly FM transmitter [print this page] HLLY brand has a special status among the fm transmitter field, some kind like Belkin. I used to have three fm transmitter which was totally made by HLLY. Three ones have different power and functions, range. As I know this is a Chinese company. Any way the quality is quite worth that kind of price without a doubt. What I bring you this time is a special fm transmitter which is actually just made for IPod by HLLY company.
All indications so far have been good on these ebay units. I just received my 20 watt (read on before you flame me, lol) unit from China yesterday, and it's a good unit. I have heard others using the "villa" unit are receiving good reviews as well. I am currently running tests on my unit to determine how low the input voltage can go to attenuate the output power, and thus the range. I did a brief test at full power, with the included 5 axis antenna fully extended, and it was downright scary. With the antenna just sitting inside the house, I got in the car and drove out of the neighborhood and was just losing the signal! Way too hot, needless to say.
By cutting the power supply harness, and using my DC power supply, I am trying to see how much reducing the input voltage to 8 volts will attenuate the output power. By running the antenna down a little, and reducing the power, it should be perfect. We should never use more power than necessary, but it's nice to have the headroom to make sure that the newer radios in most people's vehicles will even stop on your station when they are scanning for it. With my 200 mw v6000 transmitter, I couldn't even get the radio on my Nissan xterra to stop on the freq! Remember, some car radios will not tune manually, but rather auto scan each direction until they hit a station with a preset amount of gain, and then lock on. The last thing you want is for people to knock on your door saying "I can't get your station to tune in?"
If you get problems about the frequency you shoule really not need to ask the afterbuying servicer or the local special fancier club or some authirized organization for the fm transmitter has a searching function. It can easily check out the most suitable frequency. And the LCD which gets a orange background shows out the current frequency. This makes the fm transmitter much more fashion without suspicion.
