subject: An Introduction To The Brilliant Acer Stream [print this page]

A very impressive new smartphone handset will be available soon in the form of the Acer Stream. This excellent handset boasting a magnitude of features looks set to be a huge success when it is finally released.

Under the bonnet of the Acer Stream, a very fast Snapdragon processor ensures that the handset zips along at an impressive rate, with applications loading in seemingly no time at all. The chip is a 1Ghz affair and works alongside a substantial 512MB of RAM. Storage need not be a problem on the Stream thanks to 2GB of memory coming pre installed on the phone. Although this is ample for standard use, anybody wanting to utilise the memory hungry media features may opt to take advantage of the micro SD card slot that is present. This supports card sizes upto 32GB, which should offer plenty of storage for even the most demanding user. Connectivity options are well covered. When access to your own router or network is available, the handsets WiFi facilities offers the best possible online experience. When on the move the results are still very pleasing. 3G ensures the fastest possible data transfer when on the move, and even when not in a coverage area the overall experience is still pleasing thanks to GPRS and EDGE. Local connectivity is well covered, with Bluetooth 2.1 and a micro USB both present.

A wide range of multi media features are present on the new Acer Stream. The modern mobile phone is often used as a portable music player. With this in mind Acer have allowed a wide range of audio formats to be covered on the handset. Amongst these are the usual suspects of WAV and MP3. A stereo jack plug helps complete what is a very comprehensive audio package. Imaging facilities are also impressive with a 5 million pixel still camera offering a good quality of photograph thanks to a built in image stabiliser and also an autofocus feature. The handset also supports geo tagging on photographs. If video footage is more of your thing, then the 720P capture will impress. The results look great on the phones large screen and just as great on a home television thanks to the clever addition of a mini HDMI port, removing the need to purchase additional connections whilst offering the best quality picture transfer.

The Acer Stream is a very high quality smartphone which scores highly in every department. Particularly impressive is the excellent screen and the modern, stylish look that the handset offers.
