Having a digital camera on hand lets you capture the moment, whether it's a birthday gathering, wedding celebration or just an average day at the park. Now, the latest Canon EOS 60D offers four fun effects so you can make the most of your memories.

Features of the Canon EOS 60D

Canon's latest addition to its ever popular EOS range, the 60D, offers you greater flexibility and control over your photographs. This new model lets you do more with:

Full HD movie capture

Vari-angle LCD monitor with full 180 degree rotation

Movie Crop lets you crop into a scene and get closer to your subject when shooting in Standard Definition

18 megapixel CMOS (APS-C) sensor

Canon's entire range of EOS cameras offers you the ability to make the most of your photographs - and now you can have even more fun with the images you create.

Four fun new effects on the Canon 60D

Special effects let you transform your everyday photographs into something different - and maybe a bit silly. Canon's latest digital camera, the EOS 60D lets you get even more creative with your photographs. Go on and experiment with these fun effects:

- Soft focus effect - a soft focus creates a surreal, dreamlike appearance for both your subject and the background. This is a popular effect used for portraits, glamour shots and wedding photos.

- Toy camera effect - your "first camera" was probably cheap and plastic, but it was a treasure. It also likely produced some unique images - in fact, their unpredictable nature is quite desirable for some professional shots - it's called the Holga effect. The toy camera filter on the new 60D mimics the amateur appearance of these photos including the softer focus and vignetting, where the brightness and saturation of the image diminishes towards the edges.

- Miniature effect - shrink your world. The miniaturising effect of tilt shift photography has gained a wide online following. The Canon 60D DSLR camera mimics this effect with its miniature filter so that the image has a shallow depth of field and gains the fun toy appearance. Meanwhile, high quality photo printing lets you get even more creative - print out a "miniatures" calendar of the cities you've visited.

- Black and white grainy effect - this creates the grainy or noisy appearance that is common with older black and white movies and photographs from old school cameras. The result is a retro looking photo with particular emphasis on contrast and grain.
