subject: Australian Tuning For Audi R8 [print this page] Tuners From Renmei have unveiled to the public a package of changes for the Audi R8 which is called the Enigma.
Australian Renmei tuning house has developed a performance package and a discrete body kit for the Audi R8 supercar. Program of the Renmei is called Enigma and can be applied to both versions, the V8 version and the version that hides under the hood the V10 propeller.
The changes made to Audi R8 V8 Australian by the engineers consist in ECU recalibration unit, improving the cooling system intake and and replacing the xhaust system. Following these changes, the German supercar is producing 460 hp and develops a torque of 465 Nm.
In a normal way, the version who has available a V10 propeller of 5.2-liter produces 565 horses and develops 560 Nm. By reprogramming the ECU unit and replacing the exhaust system with a sport one, the supercar from Ingolstadt manufacturer is able to deliver 600 horsepower with a torque of 585 Nm. At the exterior, the Audi R8 has received a redesigned bumper for the front, an air deflector and a set of 20 inch wheels.
The engineers from Audi manufacturer upgraded the engine from the Audi R8 V8 FSI's and managed to squeeze 10 extra horsepower. 4.2-liter unit now develops 430 hp at 7900 rpm and offers a torque of 430 Nm between 4,500 rpm and 6,000 rpm. The model benefits of a kinetic energy recovery system, which converts thruster energy during braking and running while the accelerator is not pressed. According to Audi specialists, the new system helped them to achieve a higher average level of that engine.
Audi launched a new version of the Euro 5 engine on the R8 Spyder version. The model can accelerate from 0-100 km / h in 4.8 seconds, whether we talk about the version with manual transmission gearbox or six-speed S Tronic. Both versions have a maximum speed of 299 km / h. First deliveries of the Euro 5 version of the V8 R8 Spyder will start in January 2011.
Regarding the equipment, the Audi's have not made any changes to the R8 range. Also, the German manufacturer has specified that the revised V8 engine offers 90% of maximum torque between 3,000 rpm and 4,500 rpm, and between 6000 and 7500 rpm. Therefore, the model offers 387 Nm between 6000 and 7500 rpm and between 3,000 rpm and 4,500 rpm.
