Founded in 2010, the purpose of the Live Like Ed Memorial Scholarship Fund is to endow scholarships to be awarded to academically capable and motivated children-in-need. Boys Hope Girls Hope believes in children and their ability to overcome their circumstances and to become more than they ever dreamed of becoming. By providing children with arms-around care, safe homes and environments a first-class education, opportunities to learn more about themselves and the world, and academic, financial, and spiritual support through college, Boys Hope Girls Hope empowers children to realize the potential that is within them.
Edward Henry Crane was born on December 1, 1960 in Cincinnati, Ohio and died on January 4, 2010. He had struggled with significant health issues for several years due to the radiation treatment he was given at age 18, after being diagnosed with stage three Hodgkin's Disease. He is survived by his beloved wife Beth and by Ruby, their beloved red-bone coonhound. Ed was the son of Frank and Lottie and the younger brother of Frank, with whom he worked for over thirty years. He was the younger brother of sisters Lottchen, Tracey, Colleen, Grettchen, Nora, and Heidi. He was the older brother of sisters KC and Libby. He was the son-in-law of Charlie and Jogie O'Leary and brother-in-law of Yuri, Karen, Pat, Al, Andy, Terry, Tote, Bob, Susan, Steve, Molly, and Kathy. He was an uncle and great-uncle to over 33 nieces and nephews.
