subject: How Omega-3s Helps Us Stay Young. [print this page] Hi. This is Rene with Reality of Aging and today's subject is going to be how Omega-3s helps us stay young.
Now, what we first have to understand is how we age. We age through the inability to heal quickly. So, the less we heal, the faster we age. And the main reason why people do not heal as efficiently as we did when we were younger.
Well, actually two reasons. One would be hormonal level has dropped. But, the core of all of this, the real reason would be inflammation. Inflammation is being introduced to the body, weakening the cells and, in turn, making you very unhealthy.
Now, I've been in the fitness industry since I was 13. I started when I was 13. That's almost 30 years ago and I started at the old school where people said, "Go heavy. Go heavy. Go heavy."
And, obviously, as a nave, young, and wanting to know everything kind of kid, I took to heart all the information that was given to me. I followed it to the tee. I loved what I did. I did what I had to do to achieve the goal that was set in front of me.
So, unfortunately, the information that was put some 30 years ago, was go heavy, heavy, heavy and create a lot of damage on your joints kind of training. Needless to say, the damage is done. I have a bad back, bad knees. Structurally, I am not as sound as the rest of me.
But, I also thought, to myself and the reason why I'm bringing this up is that every time I go through an ache in my back, I take Ibuprofen and that would lessen the inflammation. IOt works. It's a good thing. It releases the pain and it allows me to heal quicker.
Now, there's also another type of inflammation which would be chronic inflammation. And that's the reason why we age, because of all this chronic inflammation.
Well, I started piecing the pieces together and I started using Omega-3 because Omega-3, like Ibuprofen, is an anti-inflammatory. I said, "You know what? Every time I hurt my back, I use Ibuprofen, but if I have chronic inflammation through environment, I need to take something for that."
The studies have shown Omega-3s are great for lowering inflammation, giving you a stronger heart, helping you with diabetes a lot of wonderful things. So, I said, "Hey. What could it possibly hurt, right?"bWell, I tried it. I love it. It's great. It works. Try it. Okay?
But, the nucleus of all of this, the reason why the Omega-3s can work and work more efficiently is simply because of my diet, because I'm not creating an excess. So, I want all of you, if you are going to try Omega-3s, to make sure you're not eating any pro-inflammatory foods. So, that way the Omega-3s that you do take in have a better shot at helping you.
Anyway, I'm using them. I think they're great. I would recommend Omega-3s. I'm very reluctant on recommending anything simply because a lot of stuff that's put out there, there's s a lot of hocus pocus and it doesn't work, but the Omega-3s, they work. They lower your inflammation, which allows your body to heal quicker, which allows you to be healthier quicker.
