subject: Using Articles To Build An E-mail List [print this page]

Many Internet marketers will tell you that "the money is in the list." If you have done list marketing, you have probably found that this is true. However, if you have not involved yourself with list marketing yet, you should start as soon as you can. A great way to build an e-mail list is to use articles.

An article is just a short piece of writing that is related to the product or service that you are promoting. For instance, if you are selling an e-book about credit card debt, you may want to write out a few 350 to 500 word articles that detail some of the aspects of this topic. The idea is that people who are interested in credit card debt will then read these articles. At the end of your article you will be able to place a link to your sales page, or if you are trying to build an e-mail list, a link to your list subscription form.

The great thing about writing articles is that you can get what is called targeted traffic. Targeted traffic refers to the fact that the people who have clicked the link to your subscription form have already shown that they have an interest in the subject matter of your list. That is to say that someone who is not interested in credit card debt would probably not have clicked the link at the bottom of an article about credit card debt.

Once you write out 10 to 20 articles of around 350 to 500 words, you can distribute them to article directory sites all around the Internet. You can see even more results if you use specific targeted keywords within your articles. So, if you are trying to get visitors who are interested in getting rid of credit card debt, then you need to include the words "getting rid of credit card debt" several times throughout your article. This is a great way to build an e-mail list.
