subject: Jyp's New Group Miss A Claim Their Own In The K Pop World [print this page]

Miss A, the new girl group from JYP's label, have recently emerged and become some of the biggest names in K Pop. With their new single "Bad Girl, Good Girl" they have all of Korea singing and dancing with them. If you don't know them by now, then here's what you need to know:

1) Miss A have quite a paradox going on in terms of their looks. They're not as ostentatious as 2NE1, but they're also not as homogenous as Girl's Generation. Instead, they have a group that blends together nicely, while one member, Jia, has bright pink hair, just to make you think a little.

2) "You don't know me, so shut up boy!" is the main chorus of the song, and is quite powerful when matched with the dance. Try to sing this at a karaoke room, though, and you'll find something different. Instead, the screen will read "so shut off boy!" instead of "shut up." People have suggested that this is because "shut up" is too offensive for Korean radio, so the label will claim that the nonsense of "shut off" is what Miss A was really saying.

3) Next to T-ara's "Bo Peep" this dance is quite possibly the most memorable dance of the year. It's the easiest and the most meaningful, and just about everybody will instantly know what you're doing if you even start it for one second. The fierceness and the attitude behind it have made it not only popular, but almost ubiquitous.

It's hard to argue against the prevalence of Miss A in the K Pop world of summer 2010. Everybody now awaits their follow up single.
