As of 2009, the film's production and domestic distribution rights were purchased by Sun Pictures, with Kalanidhi Maran making his debut as producer. The film is expected to be a multiple-record breaker: it is currently being made on the highest ever film budget in Indian cinema while it is also expected to make the largest film release ever, as it will be distributed in over 2000 prints worldwide.
After meticulous filming and production for over two years, the film is currently undergoing post-production work. It is expected to be released worldwide on September 3, 2010 along with its dubbed versions: Endhirant in Hindi and Endhiran speed: 1 TERA HZ memory: 1 ZETTA BYTE in Telugu. The film release will follow the film's soundtrack release, which is set to be held in Kuala Lampur on July 31, 2010.
