The Vampire is kind of a hybrid class. A Jack of all trades, master of none kind a toon. Vamps can heal, hand out DPS, can PK or be a tank. They also have range attacks. Yes, they got it all. But as I said they are master of none.
If you prefer solo play, the Vampire in Forsaken World is an excellent choice for you, and it has good PvP potential. Although, since PvP should be balanced, this means you are not supposed to get an edge just by picking a certain class. But since it's only closed beta, balance may still be a bit shaky. So a Vampire looks like a good choice for PvP right now, next to Assassin.
Talent Tree
Building your talent tree in a certain way will determine your play style, so you have to know which to chose.
1. Dark Tree
It is mainly for PvP. You should be focusing on this tree if you like player vs player combats. Talents on this tree will provide huge damage bonuses.
2 Life Tree
This includes mostly support skills, so mostly healing and HP leech. Picking talents from this tree will result in a support oriented character.
3 Hellflame Tree
This third talent group is for PvE purposes but it can supplement PK style also. It includes skills which adds bonus damage, debuff or reduce CD.
All together a Vampire is capable soloing, taking down single player targets or supporting a group, so it is a pretty versatile class.
