subject: Rhinoplasty Surgery - Taking The Notice Off Your Nose [print this page]

A pronounced nose can make anyone feel a little uneasy about the way they look. It doesn't have to be the size of Cyrano de Bergerac's nose to make you feel uneasy. Not only can it draw attention away from the rest of you it can also lead to some other health issues that you might not want to think about. If this is the case then you probably need to consider having rhinoplasty surgery.

Rhinoplasty surgery is the technical term for the phrase "nose job." It specifically deals with restructuring the nose on your face. You can deal with potential health issues that come from having a larger nose all the while getting something that looks more aesthetically pleasing on your face. Let's be honest with ourselves, one of the first things we notice on a person is their nose. You can't help it, its smack dab in the middle of the face. While we are taught it's not polite to stare there are many rude people out there that can't help but make comments about how other people look, sometimes right to their faces too.

It's important to discuss the rhionplasty surgery at length with your doctor. You might think you know exactly what you want but it might not serve the purpose that you are trying to achieve nor may it be possible. Remember, you might want a smaller nose but you don't want to go too small or it will look just as bad as having a honker. Your physician can help you there. And if you are trying to avoid certain health issues you might need his input on what is the best method to handle those issues.

Like all procedures there is risk and down time. You need to let your doctor know of any medications or health issues that you have. This will help him determine not only if you are fit for the procedure and if there are any medications you need to stop so that you will not have to worry about an adverse reaction because of the anesthesia. Be sure to mention all over the counter medications as well, this includes all supplements not yet approved by the FDA such as herbal supplements. You need to be sure to follow all your doctor's instructions so that you limit your down time and are able to recover quickly and easily. The last thing you want is for your rhinoplasty surgery to take forever to heal from.

Rhinoplasty surgery is a great way to take less emphasis off of your nose and bring more attention to the rest of you.
