If you are looking for a mobile, inexpensive, reliable connection to the Internet, Cricket's broadband wireless modem may be

your answer. It will allow you to stay connected to the Internet no matter where you are.

All that you need to begin is to set up a CD and a modem. You should get both when you sign up for the Broadband service. The

modem is the model UM100C that is made by UTStarcom. The modem is extremely small, no bigger than a disposable lighter. It

won't get knocked out of the ISB port or get in the way. It's modestly designed and set up couldn't be easier. You simply put

the accompanying CD into your favorite laptop and follow the instructions and you will be surfing the Internet in a few

minutes. However, don't plug in the modem first as bad things will happen if you do.

The speed that is advertised by Cricket's broadband service is 768 Mb/s. That's rather fast and it is a good number and it is

reliable. The Cricket will stand up to any tests that you want to put it through. The connection speed won't drop below 550

Mb/s and will be about 700Mb/s most of the time. That's not bad for a product that's supposed to be discounted. It actually

outperforms all the big names. So the range and speed are excellent and it holds well up to daily use.

You can be connected to the Internet on your laptop as much as twelve hours a day and never get kicked off. Even in massive

electrical storms when the electricity shuts off the Internet connection won't fail. The only disadvantage is that you can't

forward your port. Most people will never care or notice and have no idea what that means. However, if you want to share

torrent files, you probably should get a different service. The inability to forward your port will also dramatically reduce

your download speeds.

This Internet service can be used by more than one computer provided that the modem has been activated on the additional

computers. Cricket broadband is currently offering some amazing deals and the convenience and promotions go with using the

mobile Internet. However, prior to buying the device, ensure that the area where you will be using it has a good Internet

signal. If it happens to be in a dead zone, you won't be able to access anything.
