subject: 2010 Honda Accord Offers Unwavering Reliability [print this page]

Many consumers are looking for reliability and decent resale value when purchasing a family vehicle. The 2010 Honda definitely meets all these prerequisites. This family sedan is well known for its reliability, practicality and excellent resale value and competes head to head in the mid-size market with another best selling family vehicle, the Toyota Camry. The Accord is available as a four-door car and as a sportier two-door coupe. The trims available for the sedan are the LX, LX-P, EX and X-L and the trims for the coupe models are LX-S, EX and EX-L. On the outside the Accord sports a very modern look and contemporary styling with clean lines.

The Accord comes with three different engines that you can select from. The LX and LX-P utilize a V4 2.4 LTR engine with 177 hp and 161 lb of feet torque. The EX sedans and all of the coupe versions will be equipped with 190 HP. The engine that propels the EX model is a V6 3.5 LTR with 271 HP and 254 lb feet of torque. The ride is firm and surprisingly sporty for a family sedan; the steering wheel is precise and responsive and overall handling is quite good.

An ample room makes for a comfortable ride. The back seats offer quite a bit of spaciousness; there's sufficient leg, knee and head rooms for three individuals. High grade materials provide the interior with an upscale and inviting look. A control knob in the center of the dashboard controls the navigation system. The only minor drawback is that cargo space for the sedan is a bit small at 14 cubic ft.

Safety has been thoroughly addressed by engineers with the inclusion of a variety of advanced features. Vehicle Stability Assist adjusts pressure to the brakes in case of oversteer or understeer situations. Four-wheel anti-lock brakes aid in maintaining control during hard brakes. A Tire Pressure Monitoring system lets you know when pressure needs to be adjusted. The Accord was designed with an Advanced Compatibility Engineering structure which works to distributes the crash energy over a large area and away from occupants in the case of an accident. An air bag system consisting of front side, front and side curtain bags is in place and utilizes a clever Occupant Detection System to halt the bags from being activated if a small child is seated in order to avoid potential injury. During safety crash tests conducted by the IIHS, the 2010 Accord sedan garnered top points in frontal, side and rear impact crash testing.

The 2010 Honda Accord is an option to keep in mind when selecting a family sedan. Accords are acclaimed for their reliability and as a result retain their value during resale significantly. JD Power and Associates awarded it with 9 out of 10 on the coveted Predicted Reliability rating. MSRP for the 2010 Accord starts at approximately $21k which makes it an affordable choice for anyone looking for a vehicle that is practical and reliable.
