subject: Free Browser Rpg Games And Combat Balance [print this page]

One of the most frustrating things in any RPG is combat balance. There is nothing more frustrating then knowing for a fact that you are at the top of your class, or role, or whatever, and that you cant kill a certain something.

Whether it be a Free Browser RPG, or an RPG with 1874687346120 players, it doesnt matter. If your character, (toon,) has absolutely no equivalent chance, there is no point in playing.

There was a time, in the early days of the MMORPG I used to play, where my healing class wasnt as good as another. I can remember one fight where my role was as follows; Dont move, dont heal, dont do anything unless the other healers are dying. If you get the enemys attention you will die and they wont. Thats the goal. Really? What fun is that? I know in this particular case its probably for the best, but why does it have to be that way?

Let me explain. When all character options are 100% balanced the game wont be as fun. If all classes could do the same stuff, where would the challenge be? If every fight were predictable in a Free Browser RPG, or any other, why bother?

What gives toons their allure is what they can offer that others cant. My point it, choose what fits you. Every person has a play style, a way their mind thinks. If you find yours, any Free Browser RPG will be not only fun, but a gateway of learning to the entire RPG world!
