Steps to enable or Disable low disk space message through Registry Editor

You can enable or disable Low Disk Space notifications through the Registry Editor. To access the Registry Editor, run regedit.exe. You can also access the Registry Editor by clicking the Windows button on the keyboard together with the R button. Next, expand the HKEY_CURRENT_USER folder on the left side of the Editor. Expand the Software folder, look for the Microsoft folder, and then expand it to get Windows. Go to CurrentVersion under Windows, choose and expand Policies to get Windows Explorer and then check whether or not the DWORD value NoLowDiskSpaceChecks is present. If the DWORD value is present, double-click NoLowDiskSpaceChecks, enter 0 to disable Low Disk Space notifications and 1 to enable the Low Disk Space notifications. If the DWORD value is not present, right-click on the right-hand pane, select New' and then DWORD', and then rename the entry to NoLowDiskSpaceChecks and follow the steps detailed above on enabling and disabling the notifications. For the changes to take effect, exit the registry and reboot the computer. To close the Registry Editor, click on Exit' on the editor's dialog window. To reboot, simply press the restart button on your computer.

It is better to take care of the root of the problem, meaning freeing up space on the HDD, than to disable the notifications. You should check your HDDs frequently to make sure you have enough space. You can check the space on your HDDs through My Computer'. If you discover that you are running out of space, you should consider getting a new HDD.
