subject: Opening Up A Sports Fans Horizons With Satellite Tv [print this page]

Everyone likes a great football game, as the bone-crunching hits and the long touchdown passes equal excitement if you like sports of any kind. However, American fans are opening their eyes to international soccer leagues around the world more and more every year. Maybe it is the World Cup that is responsible for drawing more fans to soccer, or football as most of the world knows it. Whatever it is, the fever is hard to contain once you have it. Here are some stops for sports fans to make when looking for more.

1. UEFA Champions League. If you have become familiar with the great players around the world of soccer, you have undoubtedly become a fan of the UEFA Champions League, where all of the stars come to compete. The tournament times are the most exciting, naturally, but the regular games throughout the year showcase the worlds best. Need to see a Messi goal as only he can make it? Care to catch up with Rooney and Manchester United? Youll see all of the greats here.

2. La Liga. Spanish football reasserted its prominence with a World Cup win, as if anyone in the world had any doubts. David Villa and the club were too much for any team to handle on the worlds biggest soccer stage. If you became hooked on that intoxicating style of football, you ought to know you can find most of the best players in the Spanish league known as La Liga. Satellite TV subscribers can actually find a lot of these games without even hooking up an extra pack.

3. Sports Pack. This route is the way to go when you simply cannot accept that the game will not be on your home TV. The sports pack brings so much more than international soccer, but it certainly covers that sport as well as any other package on TV. One way to watch multiple games at once is with the Soccer Mix channel, where youll see up to 8 games simultaneously. Warning: a large TV and a lot of focus will be required.

4. MLS Direct Kick. Fans of the American national soccer team got to know some of the rising stars of the U.S. Standing head and shoulders above all was Landon Donovan, the man who scored more goals and made more great plays than anyone in the U.S. 2010 World Cup run. Every time there was an excellent corner kick or a skilled cross, it seemed that Donovan was the man making the kick. Check on him and most of the other stars every time they play in the MLS league. The LA Galaxy is must see TV.

5. Fox Soccer Plus. In many ways a compliment to the other packs, the Fox Soccer Plus package fills in all the blanks. If youre a fan of Italys Serie A, or even if you have become a fan of international rugby, youll see the games which other stations simply dont have. Its well worth the small investment.
