subject: The Best Ball Handling Program [print this page]

Hey guys! Over the coming days, I will be posting a five day program I have come up with to improve your ball handling skills. This program (which has worked wonders for me) includes some of the best ball handling drills I have ever seen, as well as some awesome ball handling workouts. I learned many of the drills from theEffective Ball Handling Program, which I wrote about on my blog hereEffective Ball Handling Program Review. It would mean a lot of if you would check it out, but regardless good luck with these drills!

Day 1

Start each day with this warmup (or a different one that works for you):

Dribble a tennis ball for 1 minute with your right hand, then 1 minute with your left. For the last minute, dribble the tennis ball back and forth between hands. Don't get discouraged! This is a tough drill, but it will make the ball handling drills seem easier and get your body accustomed to the dribbling motion. Here are the drills:

20 Minutes:

Hold the ball between your legs with both hands on the ball. Place your right hand on the front of the ball and the left hand on the back. Now, as quickly as you can, switch hand positions so that your left hand is holding the front of the ball and the right hand is at the back. Do this as fast as you can in 4 minute stretches. After 4 minutes, take a 1 minute break. 10 Minutes:

Dribble at full speed for about half the length of a basketball court using only your left hand. Once you reach halfcourt, turn around and dribble back with your right hand (at full speed). Do this for 5 minutes. Do this drill again for the last 5 minutes, but this time alternate hands when you dribble.

Alright! Come back tomorrow for the next day of the program. And remember, the more you practice the faster you will improve.
