subject: Uses Of Diamond Blade Saws [print this page]

When most people, and you may be one of them think of a saw, generally the first thing that comes to mind is a saw that cuts wood. Now it's only natural because for most people, this really is the only experience that they have with a saw. So then what about diamond blade saws?

The truth of the matter is that diamond blade saws play a bigger part in pretty much everyone lives than that may in fact realize. No you won't see them being used at the rate of regularity that you might perhaps see a wood saw in use, but none the less everyone benefits from the tasks that they perform.

For instance if you have have ever used cable TV service then perhaps you may like to know that without diamond blade saws, it would have been economically infeasible to run the cables down all streets, and into peoples homes.

You see these saws made it possible to quickly cut a clean 4 inch wide channel down the street, and it was in this channel that the cables were ran. Without this type of diamond cutting technology, the only other option would have been to tear up the street with heavy equipment.

The same concrete cutting systems are used in commercial rental properties. You see, many businesses such as clinics for instance, require that custom plumbing and electrical wiring be ran under the floors for specific purposes relating to the function of their business.

Concrete cutting technology uses commercial grade diamonds embedded in the edge of a steel blade to slice out a thin, and easy to patch channel where ever custom work like this needs to be done. Without these types of cutting tools the only other alternative would be a jack hammer.

Believe it or not, diamond cutting tools also made the development of computer technologies possible. You see, it's this type of cutter that is used to slice up silicon into discs that computer chips are made from. Diamond cutting technologies are also used in the mining of the metals that are used in computers, and today's hand held electrical appliances like cell phones.

The nice thing about it is that you don't need a whole lot of money to access, and use diamond blade saws today. This is because you can rent them by the hour or, by the day from your local rental yard, but there is just one small thing that you should be aware of.

That is that aside from the hourly or, daily rental fee, you will have to pay for any wear that you put on the blade. You see, they measure the edge before you rent it, and then measure it again when you return it to see how much of the actual diamond surface you wore off. So be very careful that you don't hit any metal.
