subject: Listen to Rendezvous- The Electronic Band [print this page]

With the different music genres created today, two men from Israel decided to use a unique style and together they formed a band they named Rendezvous. The two men, Itai Simon and Hagai Izenberg have come up with a unique combination of electronic pop with simple touches of jazz to make up their music. They have successfully launched their website and are available in the various social media in anticipation of their new album release in 2010.

Since their first meeting on the first day in the Rimon School of Jazz and Contemporary music in Israel, where they both went to study music, Itai and Hagai become good friends. This is the place where the name of their band- Rendezvous, formed in 2003, and was decided upon as a result of an inspiration from their meeting with other musicians in the school.

Born on March 20th, 1978 Hagai started participating in music from a very young age. When he was four yeas old, he started playing the organ and throughout his childhood studied and composed different types of music. He went to the Rimon school of Jazz and Contemporary music where he chose the Piano as his major instrument and with it sough new tunes and unique sounds. He currently plays keyboards for the band.

Itai Simon was born on December 9, 1979 and just like Hagai, he participated in music throughout his life. He developed interest in music when he was 10 years old from when he started playing the electric guitar. When he was 17 years old he let go of the Electric guitar and played the Bass guitar- the instrument he currently plays for Rendezvous. He has also contributed to different bands such as the Relics, Utopia, Missing Points, the Butterfly Effect and The SugarPlumBaby as a member. Besides this, he also produces and arranges music for other artists and bands and plays the bass guitar for them. He is also a teacher of two music schools in Israel namely Beit Ha'noar- Ra'anana and Ulpan Le Muzika- Goiv'at Brenner.

Their first release was in 2004, when Itai, Hagai and other two talented friends produced their first EP. Itai was on the Bass guitar, Hagai on the keyboard while one friend, Erez Bacher was on the drums and Andrei, the other friend, was the saxophonist. The recording was done on the Holocaust Memorial Day and although all the studios were closed, they found an empty one and recorded for free. This EP was then mastered at the Eschel studios in Tel Aviv and was uploaded on the Bands website which received quite a number of visits and downloads all over the world. Sooner the music hit the airwaves.
