subject: The Acekard 2i Out Does Other Nds Flash Cards By A Mile [print this page]

The acekard 2i has been one of the most talked about NDS Flash Cards of recents months. Not only because of it's simplicity and ease of use, but also because of the constant firmware updates from the manufacturer.

It's not very different from the R4 DS Card out there, because much like the R4 DS it allows you to load and run homebrew games and applications as well as all other types of media, by making your Nintendo DS think that it's just the same as any regular cartridge.

Each of them use micro SD Cards, to enable you to store and then load any of the games, movies or music and play or watch them on the Nintendo DS or Nintendo DSi.

What sets the Acekard apart from the competition is the menu system, or firmware, that comes bundled with the card. It's a very easy to use, high quality firmware that makes loading games, movies, music or any other media files a breeze.

No attention to detail has been spared, with the icons for the memory cards bouncing on the screen, making them very interactive and easy to see.

As with all NDS Flash cards, it's all about the compatibility, and it doesn't disappoint in this regard either. The firmware on all of these cards is what drives compatibility. The hardware, naturally, always stays the same, but the firmware is what needs constant updates to always be compatible with the latest game files and homebrew software that comes out.

The company behind it takes this very seriously and provides regular and worthy firmware updates whenever needed. It's one of the things that made the R4 DS Cards very popular, and this card follows suit in that it makes sure that the card always just works.

The user support has been amazing too. Coming in even with their own custom firmware for the card to add more features and functions than the original. The AKAIO firmware is completely user created and offers a third party alternative to the official firmware.

In fact, many of the people who have the Acekard prefer to use the AKAIO firmware in place of the original one, as compatibility for games and homebrew is equal between the two.

If you're in the market for an NDS Flash card, then the two choices you really have are the Acekard 2i and the R4 DS. Both of these cards will not leave you disappointed and will, well, just work.

You can do anything. Turn your Nintendo DS or DSi into an eBook reader, a portable movie player or your go to MP3 player. It's all possible now!
