subject: Find Out About the Giant Within You - Take the 100 Day Challenge [print this page] The 100 Day Challenge is a personal challenge that will change your life for eternity. It's about taking time to examine priorities and establish goals. These goals will determine your destiny and your personal wellness. They will also have a remarkable effect on those you love.
But before we get started... Let me ask you an important question. "How do you see yourself?" Do you really see the true you, or is it just what you want to believe is you?
"The truth will set you free!" It's a Bible verse.
Whether you believe the Bible or not, this statement is a truth in and of itself. It's undeniable.
How you perceive yourself is critical when you set out to change the way you face the future. In this case, image is everything. No photoshop allowed.
If you want to change, you have to accept the facts as they are, not as you wish they were.
Turn the spotlight inside yourself and start to ask some revealing questions. Accept the answers and make some decisions about what you will do about changing the outcome.
Let's face it, death and taxes are not the only things in life that you should be concerned about. What is real counts too. So many invest so much effort in denying the truth and attempting to live a lie with a blessed outcome. It is a fantasy that many of us are trying to make happen.
Basically, when you do this, you will realize lots of emotional heartbreak and concern wondering why "bad" things are happening to you while those around you are prospering. Let there be no doubt, undesirable consequences exist in life. You can't just hide your head in the sand and wish them away.
But you can accept them and move on instead of sinking into a pit of self denial.
Face the facts.
The road to success is blocked by the lies you tell yourself. Many things are affected by this perpetration of falsehood upon yourself. It affects you and those who are closest to you. Your character becomes suspect. Others will avoid you like the flu.
And, quite honestly, it makes YOU sick. The worst part is that you don't know why, and it's because you won't admit the truth.
Recognize the facts about your life. The only way to make positive changes is to base them on the truth.
Once you accept the truth, it's time to take action to "fix" what's wrong.
It will be hard, but it will be so worth it. Yes, it will take a strong commitment, so it's time to put on your big girl/boy pants and move forward.
Don't be discouraged if change doesn't happen within the first five minutes. Think about how long you have taken to get into the condition you are in. Tell yourself that a few weeks of commitment is not too much to ask. And the results are sooo much more rewarding than where you are at the moment.
As you work on getting better, there may be times of doubt and discouragement. You will probably think, "It's not worth it."
Don't tell yourself that lie. It is worth is.
It's time to take a challenge and see your life changed forever.
Maybe you will benefit from an accountability partner. Get some help. Find an accountability partner.
Don't put this one off like the other good ideas that have come and gone. If you wait, it's liable to end up in the same place all your other "good intentions" have gone.
Jump on it now!
Anyone really serious about achieving excellence and personal mastery should continue to develop the habit of personal introspection (examining premises and beliefs) or the old habits and thought processes will sneak back in. You have to be willing to make the commitment that you will face unwanted discomfort and fears and continue your pursuit of personal change.
Keep in mind that "The truth will set you free." Don't let those lies sneak back in.
