Have you ever thought of situations you feel you are above and cannot yield to them? The Bible says you should take heed lest you fall. No matter how minute, it is encouraging us to take heed.
There was a very good Christian writer who writes Christian articles and publishes stories, scripts online and for internet magazines and cosmopolitan websites. He started an advertising venture where He advertises through writing, publishing, re-publishing and distribution of same articles online. Then He got a contract from an unbeliever, and this man told the Christian writer to write, publish and distribute 200 articles all advertising his websites for about $1 million. And in fact for motivation and to show how serious this unbeliever was, He had already sent 20% of this amount to the writer's PayPal account. Of course, there was nothing wrong with this. But the condition is to preach another faith (religion) in about 150 of those articles which contradicts the Christian faith in totality.
'Whew! If I was asked earlier than now whether it were to be possible to deny my faith or preach on another faith contrary to what I believe, I would say, even with a double barrel on my head, I would not-I would rather die than to do it. I never thought for once, it would be possible for me to think or spend time thinking over a situation like this. Truly speaking, there is reality in experiencing a situation because this is tighter than a 'gun-on-my-head' situation' said the Christian writer. He never believed He would even think over a situation like this. Thank God he did not compromise His faith. After a hard fought 'self-battle' He stood his stand.
1st Corinthians 10:12 stated clearly "Wherefore let him that thinks he stands take heed lest he fall" We are in a world full of instabilities, uncertainties and much more, and many are just showing with the doctrine and dogma of this world. Paul the apostle was calling the attention of the brethren in Corinthians to be very careful, because the weapons of our warfare are not canal. He was saying we should not just think because we have Jesus, then we should no longer be careful, he was saying as you stand be very watchful that you don't fall, because it is the aim of the devil to see you fall. Our Christian life will not always be rosy, because God allows certain things to come our way so we could learn and be stronger one way or the other. Temptations will surely come our way, and we would definitely be tested so we could have a testimony to glorify God in heaven, but in all these and many more we ought to be careful, watchful and also "take heed" so we don't fall and become victims of the devil's mockery. Remember that God will not allow a temptation you cannot overcome to come your way, he will also make a way to escape, he is a faithful God (1st Corinthians 10;13).
As you journey through life, and as you encounter hurdles and temptations take heed and know that it will only last for a while and that a God has a purpose for it. If you think you are standing, take heed, because you are the devil's target, lest you fall. The devil is not interested in those that have fallen; he is interested in those who are still standing. Plant your feet firmly on the Solid rock (Jesus) and be very careful about those things you think cannot weigh you down. Little things are what sum up to the bigger ones, so they do surely do count.
