Rarely do educators receive the recognition and praise that they deserve for teaching and mentoring so many students year after year. Atlanta Technical College is pleased to share that 10 of its faculty and staff members are recipients of the 2010 Excellence Award presented by the National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development (NISOD). The NISOD honors and recognizes educators across the nation for excelling in the profession.

"This award is truly an honor and testament to the exceptional faculty and staff at the Atlanta Technical College," said Dr. Alvetta Thomas, president of Atlanta Technical College. "These individuals are truly committed to their profession and strive to provide students with a best-in-class education."

The 2010 ATC faculty and staff recipients are:

Michael Burnside, Director of Career Placement

Ananda Rajeurs, System Administrator

Anthony Randolph, Department Chair and Instructor/Visual Communications

Arthur Grier, Dean/Industrial &Transportation Technologies

Grant Harris, Department Chair and Instructor/Marketing

Dorothy Smith, Department Chair andInstructor/Dental Assisting

Ina Braxton, Administrative Assistant/Economic Development

Yacub Saafir, Instructor/English

Kenneth Swain, Instructor/Plumbing

Willie Johnson, Department Chair and Instructor/Dental Laboratory Technology

To qualify for the 2010 Excellence Award, recipients must excel in service to their college, show excellence in job responsibilities (i.e., teaching, support and administration), as well as, demonstrate a commitment to the school's mission.
