subject: Vci-300 Mkii Unboxing, New Features, What's Different From Vci300 Mki From Vestax [print this page]

The VCI-300 mk II is now in stock at Proaudiostar.com and for those pensively waiting to buy at VCI (or those who just bought one) the big question is what"s the hype? I haven"t used one of these yet but here"s my take (comments italicized) on Vestax"s improvements to the unit as listed on Serato"s website:

Volume Boost

Higher output gain level and headphone volume level when supplying power with the optional power adaptor (not included).

Not sure if this was an issue with the VCI-300 but having gain available is always good at the gig.

Optional Vestax Digital Fader (not included)

Crossfader can be upgraded to Vestax"s new magnetic sensor system digital fader CF-X2.

Upgradeable for the heads that want to get really technical on the crossfader.

Direct Audio Thru

Audio fed to the MIC/AUX input can now be directly sent to the Master outputs with the THRU switch turned ON, minimizing latency of when fed through ITCH.

Good if you were mixing another source like a CDJ or Turntable or even another DJ rig all together through your VCI. Now it"ll play with no latency from going through the software.

Improved Touch Sensor Level control

New, easily adjustable Touch Sensor Level control knobs.

The non MK II model let"s you adjust this too but this one claims better control over jog wheel sensitivity.

Mini headphone jack

Added 1/8 inch headphone connection along with standard 1/4 inch connection

Handy if you"ve lost the quarter inch adaptor for your headphones.

So they haven"t reinvented anything here but the small adjustments may mean a lot now that these have been in use for a few years. Be sure to call us to get the best possible deal on these units today!
