Woods was in need of moving up the leaderboard on Friday's second round at the BMW Championship at Cog Hill, yet he failed to break par once again. Woods made another double bogey for the second straight day to finish with a 1-over par of 72, which left him towards the bottom of the leaderboard.
Tiger Woods was tied for 46th place when he finished his second round, while nearly half of the field of 70 golfers were set to play in the afternoon. Woods would now have to finish somewhere around fifth place this week to be among the top 30 golfers in the FedEx Cup standings in order to qualify for the Tour Championship.
A five-time winner at Cog Hill, and defending champion, Tiger Woods for the first time opened up with back-to-back rounds that were over par since 1994, when he was just an 18-year-old amateur golfer, while playing at the public golf course just south of Chicago.
Not saying Tiger Woods needs a miracle, yet he will need to shoot pretty deep under par in order to get back into the hunt, while carrying over another spectacular performance in the final round to place well, let alone win. However, this will be assuming a lot of the field will fall apart.
Whatever happens, we will continue to publish up to date Tiger Woods news daily. Stay tuned for more Tiger Woods golf news this weekend at the BMW Championship.
