subject: Portable Restroom Trailers - Perfect For Any Charity Event [print this page]

Whether a run, a walk or some other type of huge charity get-together, having an adequate number of mobile restroom trailers or portable toilets is key to keeping attendees happy and comfortable. Event organizers rely on rental companies to truck in large numbers of sanitary restroom stations. From marathons to charity events like the Susan B. Komen Race for the Cure, portable toilet rentals are an integral component to success.

However, just as important as the total number of units is their placement. For large events where thousands of participants are expected, such as a race, restroom trailers cannot be concentrated in one particular area, but should be equally distributed throughout the entire course.

Poor planning that overlooks adequate facilities can reflect badly on any given event and its organizer. Participants may opt to leave before the day is over or, if commerce or donations are involved, it can affect the bottom line the organizers hoped to reach. To determine the appropriate number of units needed, several criteria must be considered, including:

* Number of people attending

* Duration of event

* Gender ratio

* Family participation

* Types of food and beverages that are likely to be consumed

The more people present and the longer the event, the greater the number of facilities that are needed. Events with higher concentrations of women or families should plan on providing additional restroom units. Also, at any event where alcoholic beverages are served, more units will be required, so organizers should plan accordingly.

Whereas in the past, large, impersonal troughs were favored, event organizers today prefer rows of individual portable toilets or multi-person restroom trailers. Trailers have the advantage of being able to serve several participants at once, featuring a variety of interior designs and cleaner, more sanitary facilities.

During race events, charitable or otherwise, participants may face disqualification if they relieve themselves without using a toilet. Moreover, it may be illegal in some municipalities. While people are seldom punished for such transgressions, it's best to avoid this scenario in the first place. Toilets or trailers should be spaced evenly and in adequate numbers from beginning to end.

Especially at fundraising events where participants arrive in the spirit of giving to a good cause, it is imperative that enough clean facilities are available to accommodate the anticipated masses of people. Comfortable attendees are happy attendees, and while it's not a glamorous job, portable toilet or trailer rental companies are vital to an event's success.
