subject: Choice of Tour Players Titleist AP2 Irons Review [print this page]
Titleist has over the years made a good claim for itself as makers of the 'classic' set of player's-level irons, highly regarded as the weapons of choice for the tour-level golfers, the Titleist AP2 irons are no exception. Looking at their range of irons over the years, most are simple, straightforward, performance-minded, and aimed at the advanced golfer. It is therefore quite understandable that their recent range of irons are making a bit of a stir in the golfing world, mainly for the standards they have to live up to, and also for their break from their traditional classic design with these modern looking clubs. When shopping online, the AP2s are cheap golf clubs.
The Titleist AP2 comes with high technology multi-material construction features a forged 1025 carbon steel body, tungsten nickel box, elastomer cushion and aluminium cavity plate to deliver outstanding performance and feel. The high density tungsten nickel box is laser welded to the back and sole. This locates the centre of gravity in the centre, low, and deep to improve launch conditions. The box structure and tungsten nickel material tune low frequency vibration for unmatched solid feel. The dual cavity design of the Titleist AP2 irons pushes weight to the perimeter. The central cross member with soft elastomer cushion provides rigidity behind the face for solid feel while reducing face vibration. The Titleist AP1 comes with available loft such as more or less 1 loft (for right and left handed player). Loft usually is measured in degrees, of the angle at which the face of the club lies relative to a perfectly vertical face. Technically, iron loft and wood loft are measured slightly different, but the effective result is the same. Loft gives you an idea of how far and how high the ball will go. Its Shafts Grips Length (for right handed player) is between +2 inch to -1 inch, and +1 inch to - inch (for left handed player). It also comes with a Lie angle of +4 to -2 (for right handed player) and more or less 2 (for left handed player). The Titleist AP2 irons are available in 3 Iron, 4 Iron, 5 Iron and 6 Iron.
