subject: Find The Access To Your Memory Card [print this page]

If you want to scan the content on a memory card, using a card reader is the fastest as well as the most reliable way. You can gain an access to all your personal files whatever it is, photo, video, music or any other type of media. Currently, most laptops, as well as some desktop pc models, released on the market come included with some sort of card reader.

Now a guide will teach you how to use your memory card reader to copy data to and from your card. Follow each step carefully and you will soon get the access to your memory card.

Prepare your pc or laptop for transfer.

At first, I suggest you preparing a folder on your computer that you will use to transfer the data to. If using windows, just click your mouse button on the desktop and select to create a new folder. It is so simple. Then name the folder.

Insert your memory card into the card reader.

If using a memory stick or standard SD memories card, just insert the card into the proper slot. Remember that some memory sticks require a memory stick duo adapter to function in the card reader.

Pay attention to your computers screen.

If using windows, the menu should pop up asking what you would like to do. Choose the option that states copying pictures into a folder via the scanner and camera wizard.

Follow the instructions step by step

Now follow the screen instructions, making sure you choose the options you require. You will be asked to check the boxes of the photos you want to copy, simply click the copy button to start the transfer. From there you will be asked what folder you would like the photos be copied to. Be sure to locate the folder you first created at the beginning of the guide.

Congratulations! You have successfully transferred your photos from your memory card to your computer!
