subject: Effective Remedies And Preventive Measures For Breathing Issues [print this page]

With the advent of urbanization, one of the outcomes is an increased health problem; an important segment of which is breathing problems. Majority of people become unable to perform well on their routine chores and/or job assignments because of this issue.

Coughing, sneezing, wheezing, excessive mucous, all can be related to breathing problems. These conditions might arise from a blocked nose, or inhalation of any irritant present in the atmosphere or even by mental exhaustion. Symptoms range in severity from fatigue to turning blue of lips and nails.

There are four main classifications of breathing problems. These include inflammatory lung diseases like bronchitis, emphysema, cystic fibrosis and respiratory distress syndrome, upper respiratory tract infection, lower respiratory tract diseases, and obstructive lung diseases.

Cures are available for most of them if identified at earlier stages. Medicines are prescribed according to the age of person and stage of his problem. For some conditions, doctors recommend quick-relief drugs and for others long-term medications.

There is a wide spectrum of symptoms that prevail during respiratory diseases. These can be very ordinary ones like coughing, sneezing, sputum, blocked nose, or the more complicated ones like physical exhaustion, shortness of breath, increased heart beat, weight loss, or blueness of lips.

There are other measures that can be taken to reduce the intensity of disease. A balanced diet, with appropriate amounts of fruits, vegetables, meat, eggs, dairy products, is a good option. This will not only improve overall health but also reduce the symptoms.

A good intake of water is very important. It provides with certain minerals as well as gets the body rid of many toxins. Similarly, supplements of multivitamins, calcium, iron, etc can be helpful.

People working in factories or construction sites should wear masks. Regular check-ups with your physician should also be maintained. This is very important in order to remain healthy and keep an eye on your progress.
