Nicholas Cage may not be the best actor per se, but I always find him to be entertaining, and in general, I feel that he usually picks good scripts to star in.
This article will highlight some of my favorite Nicholas Cage films of all time.
I will start out by discussing Lord Of War, a film in which Nicholas Cage plays Yuri Orlov, a Jewish arms dealer that rises from nothing to become a lead supplier of guns in the African wars. Jared Leto also stars in this film and plays a very convincing druggie.
Another great Nicholas Cage film came out recently to limited release. That movie was none other than Bad Lieutenant: Port Of Call, New Orleans. Sure, it's a wordy title, but don't let that stop you from seeing this dark film in which Cage plays one of the most corrupt cops I've ever seen.
Another movie of this great actor that I feel the need to mention is Matchstick Men. In this film Nicholas Cage plays a con artist who unexpectedly gets the surprise that he has a teenage daughter, whom he has to take under his wing.
Face Off is another movie that I certainly have to mention. Directed by John Woo, this movie stars Travolta and Cage as a cop and villain respectively, but then both undergo a series of operations to switch identities. Great action and fight scenes ensue.
I feel the need to mention Ghost Rider. This film may not have been everything it could have been, but in no part was that Nicholas Cage's fault. Cage did all he could to bring honor to the role of Johnny Blaze and Ghostrider, however the production and budget was just not there to make this movie one of the comic book greats.
These are just some of the better films that Nicholas Cage has released in recent memory.
