With a world as mixed up, as the one we are in, with so many conflicting ideas, expectations and ego's, how does one find some kind of spiritual guidance? Where does it come from? Considering it for a moment, you are left with only one thing to ask really, not knowing what a soul is. What are we?
It would be fair to say science and religion is mans way of trying to understand and learn, to grow. Is this not maybe an attempt at knowing what we are? Trying to understand ourselves and the world we are in. Trying to answer what the soul is. Being flawed creatures, guidance would be a welcome thing is this world.
Surely, science and religion could be seen as human kinds attempt to know what is going on around here, but it could just as surely be ourselves we are trying to understand. To know what that thing is that we call a soul or spirit. Clearly, since we are only human we are flawed in many ways, describing a need for that guidance of the spirit. Do we not maybe already depend on it like air, knowing it is there but not seeing it for what it is?
Everything in nature matures or grows, to some degree; even in avoiding it you will grow or mature, internally as well as externally. This phenomenon well known as some look for guidance, others avoid it or even just could not be bothered. The list goes on yet it still is true. There is something about what Dorry said, in Finding Nemo, which seems to ring this bell accurately. Just keep swimming, swimming, swimming, seems to have something about it that leads to learning, understanding and later growth.
As everything is continuously changing, growing older, or maturing, growing and learning, all these things happen to you. You come to understand things and know more, and so on, and then some actively look for it, while others avoid it like the plague. No matter what or who you are, it is still true that when you just stay moving, just keep pushing on; it always leads to something worthwhile so there must be something about that, which works.
Now that you look at it again, is it possible this searching and that journey that has to happen as well as the growth that occurs in the process, could this be spiritual guidance? One thing is clear, you will have what you need, when you need it, this much even all those disagreeing authors can agree on. Those that actually find the light saying at least this much, trusting yourself and trusting life is one and the same. After all, everything connects even spiritual guidance.
