subject: Bring Color To Your Workplace With The Hp 3600 Series Printer [print this page]

The HP 3600 Series Printers are suitable for small-scale offices or networks which require considerable productivity. There are two units comprising this series of laser printers. They are the 3600n or Q5987A, and the 3600dn or Q5988A. Although they have some differences, they share most of the technologies ideal for today's competitive environment, as well as high quality 3600 bulk toner.

Both the 3600n and the 3600dn boast of a processor with a 360-MHz speed. Such allows for the machines to come up with up to 17 pages per minute, for both colored and black and white printing tasks. They're specifically designed to be operated with much simplicity. Even their installation is hassle-free; all that's needed is a few clicks of the mouse button to have their software installed.

Producing standout, professional-looking prints is important these days. For the series, there are some innovative features HP has developed and included. For instance, there's the HP ColorSphere toner, which increases the array of available colors. Likewise, rendering of livelier and more intense colors can be achieved. Optimal results can be attained with the use of HP's high gloss paper with five-layer coating.

To make maintenance a much easier task, now there are only 4 cartridges gracing the machines. But that's not all; the ColorSphere toner and imaging drum are all incorporated into a singular unit. With the need to replace the full imaging unit whenever necessary, a more consistent output is achieved. When replacing the imaging unit, there's also no need to worry about messy toner spills.

Media handling is extensive, as these machines can work with several different sizes and types. Media sizes from 3 inches x 5 inches to 8.5 inches x 14 inches are handled by the multipurpose tray. Those from 5.8 inches x 8.3 inches to 8.5 inches x 14 inches are handled by the standard 250-sheet tray. Compatible media types include paper (bond, plain, gloss, rough, recycled, etc.), card stock, transparencies, envelopes, labels, and others.

These laser printers can be hooked up to a desktop computer or office LAN with ease. Thanks to the connectivity options comprised of a USB 2.0 (high-speed) and Ethernet connections. What's more, it's easy to connect the machines to a network minus the wires, with the attachment of an optional wireless LAN 802.11b/g accessory.

There are a few key differences between the two printers belonging to the series. Memory-wise, the 3600n carries with it 64 MB, and the 3600dn has 128 MB of it. When it comes to duplex or two-sided printing, the 3600n comes with a manual one, while the 3600dn comes with an automatic one. Both are compact in design, which makes them easy to be placed on a desk. The 3600n measures 15.7" x 17.7" x 15.7" (W x D x H) and weighs 59.6 lbs. with the HP Color LaserJet printer toner cartridges installed. On the other hand, the 3600dn measures 15.7" x 17.7" x 16.7" (W x D x H) and tips the scale at 61.6 lbs. with the print cartridge installed.
