subject: Eliminate Some Of Your Hemorrhoids Pain With These Tips [print this page]

Although hemorrhoids are not a problem that is life threatening in most cases, you will find that they can be very uncomfortable. Not only will you end up dealing with the bothersome itching that comes with this medical problem, but the pain can be quite uncomfortable for you as well. According to statistics, more than half of people over the age of 50 end up dealing with this problem. Even if you are not dealing with the problem now, chances are you will at some point in your life. If you are tired of dealing with the pain that comes along with piles, here is a look at some great tips that can help you to eliminate some of this pain.

Tip #1 - Avoid Straining

The first important tip that may help you to alleviate some pain that comes with the hemorrhoids is to avoid straining. When you use the bathroom, straining is only going to make the problem worse. To avoid straining, you may need to take a few measures to eliminate the constipation problems. You can do this by making sure you take in a lot of water, and adding more fiber to your diet is going to help as well.

Tip #2 - Soaking in Warm Water

Another great tip that can help you to eliminate some of the pain you are dealing with is to try soaking in some warm water. Take a few times a day and sit in a nice, warm bath for about 20 minutes at a time. Doing this several times each day will help to eliminate some of the swelling and inflammation that is causing the pain. Even if you cannot soak several times a day, striving to do it in the morning and in the evening at least will give a bit of relief.

Tip #3 - Ice Packs

You may want to give some ice packs a try as well if you need relief from the pain of hemorrhoids. Applying ice packs to the area can help to bring down the swelling and will provide a numbing affect to the area too. Just insure that the ice pack is covered with a cloth instead of being placed directly on the skin.

Tip #4 - Natural Ointments or Creams

Sometimes if other tips are not working to relieve the pain you are dealing with, you may need to try using natural ointments or creams on the area to help deal with the problem. Many products are available for you to try, and they are designed to stop the itching and the pain that comes from this problem.

Of course, if the hemorrhoids become too severe, you may need to see your doctor. Try these helpful tips first. If you cannot get any relief, then see your physician to find out if there are other options that may help you out.
