subject: My Wife Cheated And Broke My Heart - How Do I Give Her A Second Chance? [print this page]

Knowing the fact that your wife has cheated on you will cause you pain and agony. Nobody wants to feel the pain of being cheated. You don't want to go through the pain again and is scared to give her a second chance. You're scared that she might do it again if you give her a second chance.

That is why it's important to be thorough when you make the decision about whether or not you are going to offer her the second chance she's asking for. Here are a few things you should consider.

1.Love. Ask yourself, "Do I still love her?" Of course there is, even a little otherwise you not feel so hurt like this. But ask yourself first, is this the love that I can rebuild even if she cheated on me or is this love that faded after learning her involvement with another guy.

2.Sincerity. Is she sincere enough in asking for a second chance? Do you believe that she will do everything she can to make the second chance possible or you have doubts that she is not sincere enough in asking for the second chance. As her husband, you know your wife well. It's important that you will know how sincere she is in asking for forgiveness and that she will remain faithful to you after this.

3.As yourself, "What if you were the one who cheated?" Will she forgive you if you were in her shoes? This is not an excuse, however to cheat on her as well just to get even but consider the fact that what if you were the one doing it and not her? Will she do the same?

4.Ask yourself, "Why did she cheat on me?" Ask yourself if she even know the reason why she cheated on you. Knowing the reason why she committed it will help you go through the bottom of things before forgiving and forgetting what happened.

5)Do the good times you have together outnumber the bad? How good is the divide? You want much better than 50/50 on these numbers but you will have to decide what the magic numbers for your marriage are.

Knowing that your wife cheated is not something that is easy to get over or forget about. Learning to do that and healing the damage that was done before and after the cheating occurred can make your marriage even stronger in the long run though. It doesn't have to be the end for the two of you.
